Augmented Book Talks

Book talks are a powerful way to get kids excited about reading. They are even more powerful when it's a student led book talk, so we decided to film some book talks, to get even more students excited about reading. Each sixth grader in this class selected one of their favorite books, wrote, and recorded a short video promoting the book. Because of the 100 MB limitation for video uploads in Aurasma, we were limited to about 18 seconds of video. The book jacket covers for each book were used as the triggers for each book talk. We had the display up for Curriculum Night with directions on how to access the book talks and it was an instant success! Everyone got to interact with the display and be introduced to some great books!
